At The Green Perennialist, we believe that every space has the potential to nurture sustainable living. Our independent perennial plant nursery embraces a systems thinking approach to food production, providing diverse plant materials that foster resilient growing systems and promote ecological health for future generations.
Our love of perennials didn't start with a desire to sell plants. We've been using them in our own system, on our own land for years. We know these plants and how they grow in the UK. Selling them is a natural progression, sprouting from our own work developing a functioning, resilient ecosystem on a patch of land that was previously just used for grazing.
The Green Perennialist was founded by a wife and husband team. Between us, we've a range of qualifications and experiences including in plant management and agroforestry, alongside decades of work in UK food systems.
We've taken those experiences and developed a view of the world based upon ideas of co-operation, multi-generational thinking and polycentric systems of value.
Whilst that can all sound a bit complicated, we really just like to do things with the future in mind for the right reasons, not just measuring our success in monetary terms but seeking the widest possible gain for everyone.
Based in North Wales, we grow all our plants using peat free compost and only organic inputs. We've owned our little patch of hillside for more than a decade so we know our soil and the biodiversity we work with, intimately. By working slowly, with what our land gives us, we produce hardy, adapted plants ready to be successful for our customers.
